6/13/08 - Added the script for THE RAGE: CARRIE 2.
There were a few updates last week that I never listed... Added German Lobby Cards and American Lobby Cards for the original CARRIE.
Also last week, I added a few listings to the Known Recordings section for the musical: most notably a mention of the Stratford rehearsal tapes, the closing night Broadway track listing, a mention of the audio version of "Carrie" and "Eve Was Weak" that Betty Buckley and Linzi Hateley performed in '96, and a listing for Buckley's video performance of "Open Your Heart" from earlier this year.
6/6/08 - Huh, the remake of THE OMEN premiered today two years ago. Can't forget that date.
Anyway, I've added "King of the Road," a 1986 interview with Stephen King, who'd just finished making MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE. During the interview, he talks about a few of the other films based on his novels, including his experience at the sneak preview screening of CARRIE. Instead of including a scan of the article at the bottom, as I've done in the past, it's available as a downloadable pdf.
6/5/08 - Thanks to visitor Ryan (who pointed out my flub and generously provided the clip), the REAL original Alternate Locker Room Scene from the '76 film is now online. Major thanks for this long-lost rarity!
5/27/08 - I added the work draft script for the Stratford version of the musical to a page that now includes the Script & Score. Thanks again, Rich!
5/20/08 - Added a page about the forthcoming stage production of the 'Carrie White Story.'

5/20/08 - Added a page about the forthcoming stage production of the 'Carrie White Story.'

5/19/08 - A pdf of the RSC Programme for the musical is available to download.
Added song lyrics for "Crackerjack," "Dream On (Reprise)" and "White Star."
Oh yeah, and there might be a new unnamed download in the Known Recordings section, as well as mentions about the 2006 workshop script and possible forthcoming book.

5/18/08 - An important part of the recent History of Carrie the Musical has been its never ending appearances on You Tube, so I've just added a paragraph about it.
5/17/08 - Huh, I guess I should've been documenting my every move, 'cuz now I don't remember what all I've done. There's a bunch of full-sized scans linked from the thumbnails now (blogger shrinks them when they're ginormous), probably most notably in the Magazine section of the '76 film, the Photos section for THE RAGE and in the Souvenir Program section for the musical.I've been tweaking the Known Recordings section for the musical quite a bit in the past few days. There's quite a bit more listed now -- and many titles double as links with downloads.
Finally got the complete Japanese Program for the '76 film online. It's available for download as a pdf.
Back to the musical, I've moved the London score to its new home and and added the Broadway score, which I acquired a few weeks ago (thanks, Rycharde!). Follow the links through the Sheet Music page.
Although I had a pretty secure host for the Script for the '76 film, it's been relocated as well.
You can now download an avi of the complete Stratford video of the musical from this page (the link is in the paragraph directly above the My Space video).
I added the minimal information I know about the 2001 Danish Gammel Hellerup Gymnasium Production, along with audio of the show.
A few months ago, Garrett graciously sent me a ton of specific information on known recordings of the musical -- at the time, I was burned out on the site and drowning in a sea of spam. Finally got around to adding the info, as well as documenting amateur video performances of "Heaven," "And Eve Was Weak" and "Don't Waste the Moon." Major thanks for filling in the blanks, man!
The long lost alternate TV locker room sequence from the '76 film is now online, which features Nancy Allen clad in a bra and panties.
3/27/08 - Sorry, blog burnout combined with, well, life. I just re-uploaded the Sheet Music for the musical, and removed the script and reviews that I swiped from the unofficial site for the Musical -- which will be returning soon (yay!). Also, my email is severely backed up, so if you've written, I will get back to you. I did see that some gracious person sent me massive, more complete list of "known recordings." I didn't have a chance to respond the morning I saw it (and now it's buried in endless junk mail), but rest assured that I will get back to you and get that info online. And muchas gracias!
3/1/08 -- Added a list of Known Recordings for Carrie the Musical. Also included are listings for some of the memorabilia I'm aware of. Procrastinating about adding the cast list from the program. Tables are a nightmare and rarely appear correctly on blogger....
2/29/08 - Leap year, that's throwing me. Added the section on Stephen King to the Souvenir Program from the musical. Most of it is from a book called Stephen King: The Art of Darkness. It includes information about the creation of the novel, and a once-quirky, now-creepy, quote from King about being hit by a car. Intuition was about thirty years off. Also added sections from the program about the Story and Quotes from cast and crew. Full scans included, as usual.
2/28/08 - As you might have already noticed, there's now a bunch of photos of the cast of CARRIE the musical in various places in that section. Also decided since this page has become so monstrous, I'd spruce it up with a bunch of photos, most of which aren't available anywhere else on the site.

I'm starting to get the Souvenir Program from the R.S.C. staging of the musical online. "A Musical of Carrie?" offers some insight into the making of the production, though knowing what I know about it, I have a hard time taking some of Debbie Allen's comments in the final paragraph seriously. It seemed like the interviews were printed in reverse sequential order, so I rearranged them on the page, but loaded scans intact at the bottom. And I added a section for Carrie's Facts of Life, another stage spoof that I just discovered.
2/23/08 - My plans to get back to work the connections section keep hitting a snag, as I'm constantly distracted by the musical. But this was a wonderful distraction... No secret that I was irked last month when there was a last minute bidding war for the musical's sheet music on eBay. Now I'm glad I didn't shell out $110+ for it. A visitor named Rycharde quite generously uploaded the Sheet Music from the London version for me. Thanks Rychard; I meant it when I said it's the coolest thing anyone ever sent me for the site! Going off the sheet music, I made some corrections to the lyrics section as well.
2/22/08 - Okay, I admit it, though I never thought it'd happen: "Out for Blood" has sort of grown on me. I transcribed the lyrics for both that and "Alma Mater," making the Lyrics section for CARRIE the Musical complete. Well, for the Broadway version anyway. Anyone got the Workshop version to offer?
I also added yet another player to the Music section for the musical. This one includes instrumental 'midi' versions of most of the songs. The mp3s can be downloaded elsewhere, so they're not available here at the moment.
2/21/08 - Since the CD is still available, I have no intention of posting downloads, but you can listen to a few highlights from SCARRIE in an imeem player on the Soundtrack page. I planned to add these songs six months ago, so I wrote and asked writer David Cerda for permission -- but I haven't heard from him since. Here's hoping he won't be too pissed, but I thought CARRIE fans should have a taste of the wonderful album. In particular, "Wham! Bam! Beautiful!" and "Do It For Me" exceed where the official Broadway musical's "Out for Blood" and "Do Me a Favor" failed so miserably...
I've also added an excerpt of Stephen King's intro for the audio book to the page for the Novel. Hopefully I'll get around to organizing and fleshing out that section of the site soon.
And I finally got around to adding an imeem player with THE RAGE: CARRIE 2 Soundtrack.
I've got a handful of pages almost ready to be added to the Carrie Connections section, but I haven't had a chance to convert video clips and grab some screen-caps yet (long week). Expect some additions there in the next few days.
2/20/08 - Almost all of the Lyrics for CARRIE the Musical are now filled in.
2/15/08 - The fanaticism of fans of the 1988 musical is astounding. Judging by the traffic I'm getting on this site, the musical section is getting the most hits. Never had many problems with my bandwidth for downloads, but it's been routinely timing out for exceeding daily bandwidth since I added the mp3s (which I'm going to move to another file host soon).
Ever the perfectionist, I rewrote a few lines in the Overview of Carrie the Musical, added a half a paragraph about the initial UK production and 3 paragraphs at the end about the subsequent productions.
Jeez, what else? I added Lyrics for most of the songs in The Rage.
Over in Carrie Connections, I've added pages for Jawbreaker, Eli Stone, Bride of Monster Mania, Afternoon Delights and Fear No Evil. I think that's it since the last update....
2/8/08 - Well, in my effort to expand the section for THE RAGE (it only took me 5 years), I've added the Cast list along with most of the bios that appear in the press kit. I may update the bios, not sure yet, but they currently all include screen-caps and photos.
I also added a page for Knocked Up yesterday.
My email is backed up, I'm suffering from a bit of internet burnout, so I may take at least a few days off from all of my sites. Then again, maybe I won't... never can tell.
2/5/08 - If you haven't noticed, I added three additional icons to the front page: Updates, Message Board & Carrie Connections. I've been trying to get a few pages knocked out daily for the Carrie Connections section -- all with photos and information, many with video clips. The most recent additions are Friday the 13th, The Girl Most Likely To..., and Ugly Betty.
Slow-ass postal system. Over at the incomplete section for THE RAGE: CARRIE 2, I've typed out the Production Notes from the press kit, which includes a few color photos. I've also scanned the black and white Photos. Unfortunately, there weren't an abundance of photos released for the film -- we basically have the black and white and a color set of the same photos, and that's it. You'd think they would have taken more pictures... I'll get the rest of the stuff from the press kit up soon -- and I've got an epic page about the film more than half written.2/2/08 - Well, around 1/3 of the titles in the Carrie Connections section now have pages with information, photos and video excerpts/trailers. Of course, every time I get a page done, I think of three more titles to add to the list, so that section's constantly growing...
1/29/08 - Since it's still under heavy construction, I'm not listing this section on the main pages of the site yet (I only published it to see how it would look on the site; the preview sucks), though obviously it shows up in the blog archive. What I've been working on (amongst numerous other projects) is a section I've tentatively titled Carrie Connections. There you'll find info about various films, TV shows and plays that spoof, reference and rip-off the story of the prom queen. 6 or 7 pages are currently up for various films, I've got a few others started and more to find. A similar section appeared on the old GeoCities version of my site, but this one's far more comprehensive.
1/26/08 - cjmet graciously sent me the lyrics for "Wotta Night," which I've posted under the Lyrics section for CARRIE THE MUSICAL. Thanks! I had hoped to get the sheet music for the play which ended on eBay yesterday, but every time I placed a bid, someone else had just placed one higher (my final attempt was a whopping $110; it sold for $112). It would've helped me with the lyrics and been wonderful content for the site, but que sera, sera... I should've bought it when it was available as a $75 'buy it now,' but even that was more than I really wanted to pay for xerox copies of sheet music -- I can't even play or read piano music (though if I'd won it for that price, I planned to learned how)....
A few days ago I posted the Lyrics for the 2002 Soundtrack album, but when I went looking for a photo, I discovered someone else submitted them to a lyrics site and they're already all over the net. Didn't figure it was worth doing an update. That same day, I also added the rarely-seen music video for "Take a Chance" to the section on John Travolta's Albums, though I forgot to mention it here.
Hardly worth noting, but I cleaned up and added several lines in CARRIE '76 TRIVIA, rearranged a few paragraphs and added a few short blurbs (most notably about Spacek's casting and the connection to DELIVERANCE). If you've seen the documentaries on the DVD, there's not much new information.I'm working on a few things for the site (one's a big section I planned eons ago that's gonna take me at least a few weeks, but I don't wanna say what and jinx it), and I should have some actual content up for THE RAGE: CARRIE 2 by next week.
1/20/08 - A lot of updates in the past day. There's been a recent spike in interest in "Carrie the Musical" (there have been four or five fan sites created exclusively for the play, but I think I have the last remaining site with a lot of info on the production) so I've been working on a few things in that section. First up, I finally finished the Overview, which briefly (and in places, comically) describes all of the action of the play.
Next, I gave the Lyrics their own separate page, and I added the lyrics for "Heaven (Reprise)" (though there are so many voices at the end of the song that it's garbled, and I couldn't translate the final few stanzas).
Individual mp3s of all of the songs (including a few songs that I recently acquired -- thanks Jal!) are now available for download on the Music page. Or you can download a huge, 158 MB zip file with all of the mp3s. I'm already extremely close to exceeding the download bandwidth for the day, so you may have to come back tomorrow to get them. Most of the video I had posted is no longer available (I friggin' hate youtube), but thankfully I had the foresight to save the video files, so most of them are back online (though the Video page is still under a bit of construction at the moment).
Moving along, the wonderful, long-established "unofficial site" for the musical is gone -- I'm guessing the domain was up for renewal at the end of '07 and it wasn't renewed. I don't usually blatantly steal content from other sites, but there was a TON of great information there. Rather than see all of the webmaster's hard work go to waste, I figured I'd repost some of their content. If the site comes back, or if the former webmaster contacts me, I'll take it down. For the moment, most of the Reviews from the Broadway version are again available. More to come.
And finally, there are some new photos from the musical sprinkled throughout that section of the site. Unfortunately, my new scanner isn't fantastic and I really don't have that many photos... Anyone got more to share?
12/20/07 -- Well, I fell off the face of the earth, didn't I? Earlier this month, there was quite the "Carrie"-related event... which I remembered moments after it finished (I'm anxiously awaiting the rerun). As part of CBS's "Hallmark Hall of Fame," Sissy Spacek starred in "Pictures of Hollis Woods," based on the popular novel by Patricia Reilly Giff. What made it an 'event' is that not only did Spacek star in it, but she starred opposite Jodelle Ferland, who played the young version of Carrie in the 2002 remake. Ferland also had a pivotal role in another Stephen King film, the epic TV series "Kingdom Hospital." The film is being rerun on The Hallmark Channel on December 28, and again on January 13th.
So as for the update, first up is the trailer for "Pictures of Hollis Woods." On November 30th, Spacek appeared on "The View" to plug the movie. Here's the Sissy Spacek interview. On November 16, Stephen King appeared on "Nightline" to plug his latest film, "The Fog," and he briefly discussed the novel that almost wasn't. So click here for Stephen King on Carrie (does that title sound dirty and wrong?!).
I realized after they were uploaded that the audio in the two interview clips is slightly out of synch. Sorry about that...
Tomorrow night, CARRIE '02 airs on USA network.
And Sunday, the Brian DePalma tribute show airs on the Movie Geeks United section of BlogTalkRadio. The '76 film is being discussed with special guest William Katt (Tommy Ross), and DePalma regular William Finley (PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE, SISTERS, etc) is also appearing on the show. If you miss it when it airs, you should still be able to hear the archived version.
7/6/07 -- Okay, no updates to the main site itself, but I've done plenty of work on the Message Boards to try to flesh them out and get the ball rolling. Now if only a few people would come join me...7/5/07 -- There's nobody around at the moment but me, but I've just created a post-board forum for the site. If you're a fan of the films and the site, come and join me! Unlike the message board on the old version of the site, this one's organized and easy to use.
7/4/07 -- Added an 8-page article from a 1977 issue of American Film about Carrie, as well as DePalma's prior films, which features a bunch of quotes from DePalma himself about Carrie.
7/2/07 -- Scans are up for the P.J. Soles article that I added last night.
7/1/07 -- Yes, I've finally added something new -- being sick sucks. I just added a 2000 interview with P.J. Soles from Femme Fatales. There's an interesting story about Stephen King in it that I hadn't heard elsewhere. There's no scans at the moment, should have them up tomorrow.
6/26/07 -- I know, I know, I haven't added anything in nearly a week. My apologies to those of you who check the site regularly. But in the words of a lady who I met this weekend, I "planted a seed" that I'm hoping will result in something exclusive for the site. Don't want to say any more and jinx it... I also contacted David Cerda, the writer of "Scarrie," and he's working on getting me some more information about the original production. Without going into tedious exposition (that would likely give away what I don't want to jinx), I had a fairly grueling weekend and I'm still exhausted from it, but I should be back in a few days with some updates.6/21/07 -- Long story short, some of the pics on the front page vanished yesterday. The problem should be fixed now (fingers crossed).
6/20/07 -- I think I've done about all I can do with the section for SCARRIE THE MUSICAL for the time being.
Once again, I've changed the layout of the front page, moving the updates and text to the bottom. Sorry for any confusion.
6/19/07 -- I added 5 network promos that aired on Halloween prior to the November 4 debut of the 2002 version of CARRIE.
And another thanks to Marijn for unknowingly prompting me to open up yet another section of the site devoted to SCARRIE - The Musical! I'd thought about doing it before (I actually intended to way back when I was on Geocities), but I hadn't gotten around to doing it yet. I'll probably expand the section shortly. Thanks for the scans, Marijn!
6/18/07 -- Added another 1977 review from Take One. I find it highly amusing that the critics initially blasted the film, but over time (as is often the case), most critics have completely changed their tune. This is one of the kinder reviews, but it's still nitpicky.Although the title of the article is misleading, I've just uploaded the 1999 Femme Fatales article "Carrie Vs. Carrie 2." THE RAGE is basically only mentioned in passing. I'll add some scans soon.
Added Nancy Allen's April interview from the Fangoria Radio show.
6/17/07 -- In an effort to stretch the content, as well as offer some glimpses of the remake to visitors around the world, I've added a section with some video highlights from the 2002 version. I'm still adding at the moment, but they're available here: Carrie '02 Video Clips.
6/16/07 -- Added the first gallery of Screen Captures from CARRIE '02. Since the small thumbnails here aren't as small as I'd prefer, I'm gonna split the screen-caps into a few galleries.
6/15/07 -- Added two video clips from behind-the-scenes on the set of the 2002 version of CARRIE. I also added a few screen-caps.
Since many of Mo-Freek's films that Angela Bettis has starred in are available to watch online, I've devoted a page to them, which includes the documentary about THE TOOLBOX MURDERS. I suppose this is, in part, to make up for my lack of content about the '02 version... (aside from three or four press photos and the promo soundtrack, there's really not that much that I've found for CARRIE '02).
6/13/07 -- Dunno why I hadn't finished them before, but there's now a section with Sissy Spacek's Song Lyrics. My copy of "Hangin' Up My Heart" is on cassette and doesn't include the lyrics from the LP sleeve, so I had to wing it -- and I may be off once or twice.
I've added several paragraphs to the still incomplete '76 Trivia section.
6/10/07 -- Yesterday I added photos to a bunch of articles, but I guess I didn't document them, and I'm not gonna now (if you're dying to know which ones, peruse the magazine articles)...I've just added a few galleries of photos for Piper Laurie, with some original scans and a bunch of pics that I've grabbed from eBay in the past month or so.
It's still a work in progress, but I've added a proper section for Trivia about the '76 film.
6/7/2007 -- The lengthy "Carrie Meets Marathon Man" article from "Jump Cut" is up. Unlike the "Rag Time" article (that appears with it in "Jump Cut") that I posted a few days ago, this one's not entirely unfavorable. The article is a comparison and deconstruction of the two films; if you haven't seen the latter and plan on watching it, I'd skip the article. I stuck in a few photos from each film, I'll scan in some more and insert them later.I'm not certain how I'm going to lay this out since there's so little available about the 2002 film, but I've just added two articles that appeared on my old site -- one from Fangoria and one from TV Guide. A few years ago, there were a lot of interviews and such available online (I wish that I'd archived them; I can find very few now) but these are the only two things in print that I've found about the 2002 version. And neither are particularly informative... Anyhow, the scanner's not hooked up at the moment, so scans to come later.
6/6/2007 -- I generally loathe Roger Ebert, but I found a funny article that he wrote in a 1978 issue of Us Magazine about "malevolent" kids in the movies. For the brief mentions of CARRIE alone, I probably wouldn't have put it here, but there's also mention of THE FURY (which starred Amy Irving), the rip-off JENNIFER, and a brief review of I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND (which starred Nancy Allen). I figured that was enough round-about CARRIE stuff to warrant inclusion on the site.
And finally, a 1977 interview from Circus Magazine with Spacek is up. The article includes a few photos from her "SNL" appearance. Firefox is my browser of choice, but I discovered that multiple photos get skewered even worse in Explorer, so I hesitantly moved the scans of a few magazine articles below the text transcriptions.
6/5/2007 -- I just wanted to thank the webmasters at DePalma a la Mod and Moon in the Gutter, as well as Ash28M at the Horror DVDs forum for sending some traffic my way! I'm not above shameless self-promotion, but I must be doing something right, since I didn't solicit myself to any of them. Make sure to check out their sites! Also, while perusing DePalma a la Mod (which features an incredible wealth of info on the man), I came upon an interesting interview from Entertainment Weekly where DePalma mentions that George Lucas wanted a CARRIE cast member for Princess Leia!
Also available is the complete "Rag Time" article from a 1977 issue of Jump Cut. While I have no problem with posting something unfavorable about the films, the lady who wrote this article was downright malicious, over-analyzing every minor thing in tedious detail, with a holier-than-thou narrative (and lots of $10 words). A second article directly follows it in the issue ("Carrie Meets Marathon Man"), but with the ridiculous length of the articles in this strange newspaper, that's more typing than I'm up for at the moment. That's exactly why "Rag Time" was incomplete on my old site.
I moved "A Carrie Nation," yet another Entertainment Weekly write-up. I think that's the last of the 8 or 9 Magazine articles that appeared on my Geocities site to make the move here. I've also attempted to organize the stuff on the Magazine Articles page, since it's growing....
Seems like a no-brainer that I should've had a section here about Stephen King's novel, but it was somehow overlooked. I planned to develop that section at my other site, but not much ever happened with it. I just copied the little bit of text from my Geo-site... and added a ton of photos of various covers. I'll figure out how to flesh out the section later. For those with a high interest in the original film, lots of the covers feature unique pics of Sissy Spacek. And finally, today's extensive updates end with a Vintage Magazine Spread that a friend in Italy obtained. I don't know what publication they're from, but it's a cool photo spread.
6/2/2007 -- Sorry, lost the internet for a couple days and then I became violently ill. Anyhow, just added a 1977 interview from "Screen Stars" with Sissy Spacek. In it, she discusses a girl who she went to school with who she based her performance as Carrie on. I've seen/read tons of interview with her, but that's the only one I recall where she ever told that story...I also added an interview with Spacek from People that mentions one of her skits from "Saturday Night Live" where CARRIE was referenced. Since Spacek has always said that she fought for the part, I think whoever titled the article was smoking something....
5/26/2007 -- It was pointed out that I need to work on the bios, so I started by updating Sissy Spacek's (I had just copied it from my old site which, admittedly, was a bio snagged from a long-gone fan site). I added a few lines and paragraphs, and a bunch of photos -- several of which don't appear elsewhere on the site (including some from CARRIE).
Well, that was more time and energy than I was wanting to invest! I wasn't looking to make The Sissy Spacek Shrine here, she's just the easiest cast member from the original film to find info on (next to Travolta, of course)...
5/23/2007 -- Another Sissy Spacek interview has been added to the Magazine section, a 2001 interview from Entertainment Weekly. It's funny that she's had such a long, illustrious career, yet she gets wrangled into talking about CARRIE in every interview. Scans are included, and I added a few of the photos from the article to the photo gallery for her that I created yesterday.
5/22/2007 -- I added a Photo Gallery for Sissy Spacek. Since there's no sites devoted to her anymore, I looted pics from a bunch of other sites and added a ton of non-CARRIE photos of her to the gallery.
5/21/2007 -- It's finally arrived! The Script for the 1976 version of Carrie is finally available to read! Whew, now maybe I can focus on making some more content available on the site... I also re-ordered this page to list updates in descending order (sorry if I confused ya!).I've also added a some scans from The Japanese Program today, and made a page for the '76 Photos.
I just typed out the My Generation article that I posted scans of a few days ago.
5/20/2007 -- The script is completely typed out, however, the word processor has completely messed up the scene numbering... and no matter which processor I use to try to format it to look like a script, I'm finding that it's a nightmarish task. It should be ready and uploaded sometime tomorrow. Loading it as HTML will undoubtedly wreck the formatting, so expect a pdf file (meaning you have to have Adobe Acrobat to open it -- though that's pretty standard these days).
5/15/2007 -- I've got about half of the script typed out -- just haven't had as much time to work on it as I'd hoped for. But for frequent visitors, I figured I'd give a good sample of a scene that was filmed but deleted. Click here. Also notable, if you tried downloading any zip files yesterday, my file host was down for a few hours. Downloads are working again now.
5/12/2007 -- No updates today, and probably not for a few days. The script that I ordered weeks ago for the '76 film finally arrived, and it's gonna take me a few days before I can get it online. No promises, but you can probably expect to see it here on Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on how much time I have to scan/type in the next few days.
5/11/2007 -- The CARRIE 2002 Score is now in a music player so you can listen to it and the mp3's are also available to download in a zip file.5/9/2007 -- Added scans of the 1977 Film Comment Article page, including scans of the first half of the article, which dealt exclusively with TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE. Added the lengthy 1977 Film Quarterly article about DePalma's films along with scans. The Pundits' Page now has a couple of scans, including blurbs of reviews from other then-current films like ROCKY, NETWORK, KING KONG, etc.
5/7/2007 -- Added a bunch of video clips from Carrie the Musical.
